Project Background
The Moving Forward project addresses
problems of social isolation that almost all
new migrants face when settling in a new
place. It also focuses on social and
economic integration for BNOs from
Hong Kong.
The Moving Forward is an integrated, holistic
programme that focuses on improve
confidence in spoken English & employability
and continue developing knowledge of UK
history and culture.
The project also focuses on enhancing well-being, avoids isolation by participating in outdoor and 'hands-on'
activities, and familiarises entrepreneurial
options such as Self-Reliant Groups (SRG) in
partnership with Church Action on Poverty.
The project will implement the following actions: ESOL conversation groups, create
four new SRGs: Yum Cha Café, Gardening for
