COVID-19 RESPONSE





Together We Connect, The Olive Project



The OLIVE (Online Language Integration Volunteering and Employability) project is the continuation of our main service online / phone during the Covid-19 lockdown and prepares the organisation to the next stage of the crisis keeping helping current and new groups from vulnerable background who have been most hit by the pandemic. The aim of the project is to reach out to most vulnerable people from migrant/refuges/asylum seekers background, black ethnic groups, people whose first language is not English, people who are over 50s and people who might struggle accessing to services and people in hardship from diverse cultural background. We are running the following online sessions: • Pre – Entry ESOL • Entry 1 • Entry 2 • IT and digital skills • Fine Art sessions • Self Reliant Groups To arrange assessments and registration please contact our Lead Teacher samira@migrantsupport.org.uk Funders: This project was made possible with the financial support of The Big Lottery COVID-19 Emergency support, Community Support and Comic Relief.



Collective Action Partnership



Collective Action Partnership The Collective Action is a project in partnership with Community Revival and Home Justice to support people who live in Greater Manchester who might be suffering the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. The project provides the following support:

Collective Education: Non and Accredited courses ESOL for Work (English language and Skills for Work.

Collective Support: People will receive advice and information on housing, welfare benefits, Universal Credit and other urgent issues.

Collective Volunteering: People from diverse cultural background will be able to volunteering as translators, interpreters, on the phone, teachers, teaching assistants and befrienders. Please contact us if you would like to refer people to our services or you would like to volunteer. Funders: This project is possible with the financial support of Coronavirus Community Support Fund.



Collaborative Support - COVID-19 Community Led Organisations Recovery scheme



This project contributes to deliver services in the local community to support those affected by Covid-19 through the provision of training and education programmes online and safe face to face. The project aims to help people from disadvantage financial situation or at risk of isolation because the COVID-19 crisis by proving individual support and referring to local services if appropriate. The project provides sessions Skills for Life and online employability sessions in individual bases and small groups. Sessions we offer: • Numeracy and finances • Self-employment • Digital Skills for work • Looking for jobs online • Rights at work • Recognising exploitation and modern slavery • Art sessions Funders: This project is supported by Community Fund Big Lottery and Power to Change



Migrants Skills on The Move



Barrow Cadbury Trust The Skills on The Move Social Enterprise Big lottery Background of the project. This project aims to prepare learners to move from online learning to a face to face safely community Café environment. It is the continuation of our ongoing Language Employability and Integration Hub programme where learners had an opportunity to move to our Food Moves initiative so that they could enhance their skills and prepare for work in the catering sector in a new reality. Additionally, participants improve their practical skills and build their confidence in becoming self-reliant (Co-op), by enabling access to online resources and working experience in a community kitchen safely. The project also helps people to engage with outdoor activities and online befriending service for those who are feeling isolated and vulnerable. Also, to participate in online meetings such as Self-Reliant Groups. Volunteers and staff facilitate and encourage a ‘Hands-on’ approach to learning - either via video or in a community Kitchen to improve users experience of producing food and adhering to health/food hygiene standards and creating a friendly learning atmosphere. Funders: This projects and activities are possible with the support of Big Lottery Community Fund, Barrow Cadbury Trust and Social Enterprise Support Fund.
