WORK CLUB

Project Background

We offer a 28-week intensive, personalised programme to support individuals with complex needs and low or no English skills (Pre-Entry level). Our goal is to improve their confidence in spoken English, digital skills, and employability—three interconnected pillars that form the foundation for finding work in the UK.

Participants will receive around 9 hours of weekly support through group sessions and one-
to-one coaching. The programme comprises three main components: English, Digital, and
Work.

English: intensive language support by qualified teachers. Participants at the Entry 1 level can also prepare for the Ascentis exam.
Digital: focused on essential digital skills, from basics to using platforms like Learn My Way and Zoom for job searching and interview practice.
Work: tailored employability coaching. This includes CV writing, job search support, and
basic workplace preparation.
To support soft skills development, participants will also join:
 Conversation groups to improve speaking and listening
 Walk and Talk sessions exploring local history and culture
 Wellbeing groups offering art, gardening, catering, and performance activities
 Volunteering opportunities, including pathways to become peer supporters and
befrienders
Additional enrichment activities include:
 Workshops on workplace rights and ethics
 Attendance at job fairs and employer networking events
Through this holistic approach, we aim to support our participants on their journey to greater confidence, independence, and employment.
