Migrant Support leads this project in partnership with Lancashire Hongkongers CIC (LHCIC). Together, we are working to create a safe, welcoming space for BN(O) visa holders to settle, connect, and thrive in their new communities across Lancashire, thanks to the support of the RSMP. We aim to help BN(O) feel at home, connected, and confident, and build a strong, self-sustaining support network across the region. We are also working to strengthen local partnerships and raise awareness of BN(O) 's need to reach and support new arrivals, including older adults, families, and individuals.
The project aims to build Connections from Day One and plan and deliver events that bring BN(O) residents living in Lancashire together and connected.
We deliver community events that mix fun, tradition, and local discovery—all designed to help people feel part of where they live.
We deliver the Week ESOL class: tailored support for Pre-Entry and Entry 1 learners in Preston and Blackpool. There are no exams or pressure—just confidence-building, conversation, and community. The course is open for enrolment.
BLACKPOOL Saturday mornings at Central Library, Blackpool
PRESTON Tuesday mornings at the Preston Methodist Central Building
We aim to provide social support for those over 60 to combat loneliness through four relaxed, friendly sessions for older Hongkongers. We also deliver tea afternoons, days out, health workshops, gardening, and art sessions.
Growing a Strong BN(O) Community Network
We offer a series of network meetings and workshops on key topics like:
Accessing housing and local services
Running and funding a community organisation
Sustainability and good governance
