The aim of the project is focusing on providing support in a holistic way (intellectual, emotional, social, artistic and creative potentials) The project combines structured classroom learning with kinaesthetic activities such as cooking and hosting events we hope to promote personal and collective responsibility (online and safe face to face) ◦ The project it is educational. Preparation of food is not the ultimate product, we place greater emphasis on our learner’s journey of progression to employment, further education and engagement in the community. Sharing and preparing food enables our learners to meet new people, and develop their skills in a safe environment as individuals and team players. ◦ The project aims to provide English language support, Skills for Life, wellbeing sessions, work experience placement and volunteering opportunities in the catering sector (but not exclusively).
Teachers and volunteers support people from vulnerable migrant and refugee backgrounds who are unemployed and live in Greater Manchester.
If you are over 18 and looking to improve your skills to improve your level of English language and receive support to improve your employment skills please get in touch with us. If you would like to become a volunteer to support this project please contact us.
